HYROX Training · Orlando, FL
HYROX is 8 kilometres of running broken up by 8 functional stations. It does not reward people who only lift, and it does not reward people who only run — it rewards people who train both. SOCF is a hybrid gym in south Orlando built exactly for that, with race-specific HYROX classes on the real equipment: sleds, SkiErg, rower, sandbags and wall balls.
The Format
Every HYROX race is the same, anywhere in the world — which is what makes it worth training for specifically. You run 1 kilometre before every station, eight times, in this fixed order. Know the order, train the transitions, and race day stops being a surprise.
Opens the race. Goes out too hard for almost everyone — pacing this one station decides how the next seven feel.
The station that ends most first-timers' pacing plan. Heavy, low, and entirely about leg drive and staying patient.
Rope, hand over hand, seated or standing. Grip and posterior chain under fatigue — very hard to fake if you have not trained it.
Where the race usually turns. Low skill, enormous cost. Efficiency of movement matters more than raw fitness here.
The one most people think is a rest. It is not — rowing efficiently on tired legs is its own skill.
Pure grip and trunk. Straightforward if you have trained loaded carries, brutal if you have not.
Late-race leg destroyer. Awkward load, long distance, and the running is not done yet.
The finish. One hundred reps with nothing left. Almost entirely a mental and pacing problem by this point.
Class Times
Dedicated HYROX sessions, programmed around the race format rather than a generic circuit. Thursday is a full HYROX day — every class from 6 AM to 6:30 PM — so you can train race-specific whenever your schedule allows, not just one fixed evening.
Weeknight HYROX session. Stations plus running intervals, scaled to whoever is in the room.
Every single class on Thursday is HYROX — 6:00, 7:30, 9:00, 10:00 AM and 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 PM. Train race-specific whenever your day allows.
Weekend session — the best slot for longer race-simulation work when there is time to run it properly.
Why Train Here
HYROX punishes specialists. A globo gym will not build your engine, and a running club will not build the strength endurance the sleds demand. SOCF trains both in the same building, on one membership.
Sleds, SkiErg, rower, sandbags, wall balls — the actual stations, not substitutions. You should not meet a piece of equipment for the first time on race day.
Most people lose HYROX on the runs, not the stations. Our sessions pair running directly with heavy functional work so your legs learn the transition.
Same class works for a first-timer and someone chasing a time. Coaches adjust load and distance per person — no experience needed to start.
HYROX is two nights. Your membership covers every other functional fitness class and open gym, so the other days are handled too.
Racing seriously? There is dedicated competitor programming on top of unlimited class access for athletes who want more structure.

No. Every session is scaled to the person doing it — weights, distances and intensity are adjusted by the coach. Plenty of our members came in having never pushed a sled or used a SkiErg.
Most people give themselves 8 to 12 weeks of consistent training before a first HYROX. With Tuesday evening, a full day of HYROX on Thursday, and Saturday mornings, training two to three times a week here with running in between is a realistic base for a first race.
Yes — your first class is free, no credit card and no commitment. You can also buy a single drop-in for $25, or a 5-session pack for $85 if you want to test it over a few weeks.
HYROX is a fixed, repeatable race format — the same eight stations and the same 8 kilometres of running every time, so you can measure progress against a known standard. CrossFit-style training varies constantly and covers a much wider range of skills including gymnastics and olympic lifting. HYROX rewards running engine and sustained strength endurance above all else, which is why hybrid gyms suit it well.
